Basic Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Workshop (Basic EMUS)

The MD Inc BASIC Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Workshop is aimed at doctors new to the use of bedside ultrasound in the emergency centre. This is a practically orientated workshop, covering the basic concepts and use of ultrasound machines in a friendly and hands-on environment.

Topics covered include:

• • Physics, the Ultrasound Machine and Technique
  • Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (eFAST)
  • Abdominal Aortic Assessment (AAA)
  • Central Vascular Access
  • basic Lung Ultrasound
  • Focused Echocardiography in Emergency Resuscitation (FEER) including brief Limited Compression Ultrasound (LCUS).

The course consists of pre-reading materials, an online theory test, and a full-day workshop. All instructors are qualified Emergency Physicians with extensive experience in the use of Ultrasound in the Emergency Centre.

All course attendees are awarded 6 CPD points.
