- Booking Data: When you book a course (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.), we collect your name, email address, phone number, employer details (for invoicing), and professional registration details where required for certification.
- Financial Data: Payments are processed via Paygate. MD Inc does not store your full credit card details on our servers; these are handled in a secure, encrypted environment by our payment provider.
- Technical Data: We collect your IP address and browser type through automated systems (see Section 4).
3. Purpose of Processing
We use your data strictly for:
- Processing course bookings and managing attendance records.
- Issuing invoices and processing refunds as per our Training and Events Terms & Conditions.
- Issuing AHA (American Heart Association) competency cards and certificates.
- Analyzing website traffic to improve our user experience.
4. Cookies and Consent Management
We use the Complianz consent manager to handle your privacy preferences. You can adjust your consent settings at any time via the cookie banner on our site.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site. This data is generally anonymized.
- Google Maps: We embed Google Maps to help you find our training venues. Google may collect technical data (like your IP address) when you view the map.

5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your data. We only share information with third parties necessary to fulfill our contract with you:
- AHA / Accreditation Bodies: To issue your official certificates/cards upon successful course completion.
- Paygate: To securely process your payments.
- Service Providers: Google (for analytics and maps) as described above.
6. Data Retention
As per our Terms & Conditions, specific records (such as written test results and practical evaluations) are kept to verify your certification eligibility. We store financial records for the duration required by South African tax and business laws.
7. Your Rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to update or correct inaccurate info.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your data (subject to legal or contractual obligations, such as certificate verification).
- Objection: Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.
8. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. Our WordPress site is maintained with updated security protocols, and all online financial transactions are handled via secure, external payment gateways to ensure your sensitive information is protected.
9. The Information Regulator
Should you believe that MD Inc has utilized your personal information contrary to POPIA, you undertake to first attempt to resolve any concerns with us directly. If you are not satisfied with such process, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
