JOB DESCRIPTION
- 180 hour contract, including structured after hours/on call.
- Perform administrative duties within office hours or as required.
- Be available for telephonic call out after hours when on call.
- Deal with complaints laid during the week of cover.
- Perform clinical governance by auditing and checking patient records and doctor’s notes.
- Liaise with in-hospital Specialists and Hospital management as needed.
- Liaise with administrative team as needed .
- To be available for call-out for any major incidents/disasters.
REQUIREMENTS
- Compulsory to be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent Medical Practitioner.
- MBChB qualification.
- Other Emergency Medicine related course such as ATLS, ACLS, APLS/PALS.
GRADE DESCRIPTION
Grade 4: Specialist Emergency Physician with Fellow of The College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa (FCEM) and Masters of Medicine (Emergency Medicine)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Position available from October 2026
- Locum rates for hours worked in excess of contractual hours.
- Medical Aid Benefit.
- Malpractice insurance covered by Employer for medical practitioners insured by MPS.
